WHAT GRADE LEVELS ARE OFFERED?

K3-12th Grade


HOW MANY STUDENTS ATTEND NHCS?

We have approx. 500 students currently enrolled.

What is the average number of students per class?
Grades K-5: 20-25
Grades 6-8: Varies, but averages 20-25


IS THE SCHOOL ACCREDITED?
Yes, NHCS was recently awarded the highest educational accreditation through AdvancED, AACS, and TACS. NHC is also certified by the Kentucky Department of Education.


DO YOUR TEACHERS HAVE A TEACHING CREDENTIAL?
Yes. 80% of our faculty must have a teaching certificate from TACS in order for the school to be accredited. In addition, many teachers have state credentials and Masters’ Degrees.


WHEN DOES SCHOOL START?
8:10 am – 2:55 pm


WHAT IS THE COST OF TUITION?
The annual tuition is currently $3,500. Tuition can be paid in 10, 11, or 12 monthly installment payments. There is a reduced amount for more than one child.


IS FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE?
No. At this time, NHCS does not have any funding available.


DO YOU HAVE UNIFORMS?
No. While NHCS has a dress code, we do not require uniforms.


ARE THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS ON SCHEDULES THAT ARE SEPARATE FROM THE MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS?
Yes, elementary students have a schedule separate from the middle school students for recess, lunch and chapel.


WHAT DENOMINATION IS THE SCHOOL? ARE YOU ASSOCIATED WITH A CHURCH?
We are sponsored by Fellowship Baptist Church, but have students from most of the church’s in our area.


DO STUDENTS HAVE TO BE A CHRISTIAN TO ATTEND?
At the elementary and middle school level our mission is to serve our community at large by providing a Christian based education available to students of all religious backgrounds.


IS EXTENDED CARE AVAILABLE?
Yes. NHC students have care available from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., at a fee of $3.00 per hour. No minimum stay required. Billed on an hourly basis and charged once a month for services.


DO YOU HAVE A PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS WITH LEARNING DIFFERENCES?
No. At this time, we do have not a special education program adequate to meet the needs of students with learning differences. NHCS has been successful in helping students with mild learning differences. Administration considers situations on a case-by-case scenario.


DO YOU HAVE A LUNCH PROGRAM?
A healthy lunch is available every day. Parents have the option of pre-ordering lunch online.


DOES THE SCHOOL HAVE AN EMERGENCY DISASTER PLAN?
Yes, fire, stay-indoor/return to classroom (lock down) and tornado drills are conducted on a regular basis.


WHAT BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES ARE AVAILABLE?
Band, Piano, instrumental,   and vocal lessons. (Private lessons), Middle School Mock Trial.
Elementary –Fall Coed Soccer
Middle/High School – Boys’ Middle School Basketball, Co-ed Cross Country Boys' Soccer, Girls’ Volleyball, Boys' Basketball, Girls’ Basketball, Boys’ Baseball, Girls’ Softball, Co-ed Golf , and Cheerleading.


DOES THE SCHOOL HAVE SUMMER PROGRAMS?
Yes, we have a Summer Day Camp for enrolled students in Grades K-8. This is a fun, non-academic camp for registered NHC students. Hours are 6 AM-6 PM. Meals and snacks included at $20 per day/per student.


DO STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN STANDARDIZED TESTING?
Yes, students in grades K-11 participate in a testing program. Our students consistently score above the national average for this test.


WHAT ABOUT TEXTBOOKS?
Textbooks for all grade levels are loaned to the students. There are no additional book fees.


DOES THE SCHOOL HAVE OFF CAMPUS LEARNING EXPERIENCES?
Yes. Each grade has at least one off campus field trip per year, also the students may participate in the following special field trips:
Primary Center – Robert’s Family Farm, Louisville Zoo, Louisville Science Center

1st & 2nd Grade – Mammoth Cave National Park

4th Grade – Kentucky State Capitol
Middle School – Civil War Museum, Early College and Career Center

High School – International Studies through GlobalNext, Career Day, ECTC College Experience


DOES THE SCHOOL HAVE A PROGRAM FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS?
Yes, NHCS is a registered SEVIS academic institution. We have several foreign-exchange students each school year.


DO HOME-SCHOOLED STUDENTS HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO ENROLL IN CLASSES AT THE NORTH CAMPUS?
Yes, home-schooled students may enroll for classes.


DOES THE SCHOOL PROVIDE BUS TRANSPORTATION?
Yes, private bus transportation is available to school families for a small fee.
